Lavender Sunset

Sunset is such a wonderful time – calm, peaceful with the air filled with heady aroma from hundreds upon hundreds of lavender flowers.

The Cotswolds is well known for it’s commercial lavender fields that draw in visitors every year to experience this wonderful sensory explosion of scent and colour.

I was inspired to paint this tranquil scene by the beautiful array of blue and purple colours in the flowers that are echoed in the sky as the sun sets.
